MiniSOP Event #21

Another deep finish in the Mini Series of Poker Event #21 $30 HORSE on FullTilt Poker which I put a lot expectations on myself to do well, in fact I am disappointed that I didn’t final table but I did make a run for it.
This was a $15k GTD tournament, with 877 entrants the prize pool got juiced up to $26,310 and paying the top 96. In all fairness this is a decent turn out which I had estimated we would get 800-900, there was a couple players who thought it would reach 1000 with late registration and offered a side bet but since I did not know them I passed on that.
My First Big Pot
At the 40/80 – Limit Omaha H/L level dealt [Kd 7h Jd 9s] on the big blind it got raised up with a couple callers so I decided to peel off a flop too, which I was treated to a flopped nut straight [7c Th 8s] which did not slow down 3 other players to my re-raises. Turn and river were Kings, giving me a full house and a nice pot and the chip lead at the table.
I picked up some smaller pots in the Stud variant to make the difference of the chopped pots in the remainder of the Omaha Hi Lo, couldn’t score a big scoop as I started to notice some of these players just won’t fold a draw. That’s Limit Poker for ya’. Then I was a little up and down in Razz but came out ahead.

rut rohh AJ makes a boo boo and cost him some chips and table credit.
Thinking we are still playing Razz and of course I got a great low showing I choo-choo keep calling it down only to find out we are playing Stud. Not to costly, in fact did it help me? hmmmm a few levels later I get no respect for my raises and I win or chop 3 hands in a row…nice I love Omaha.
2 Hours In, The Crying Starts
I posted this thread: hopeless move stick to NL in the hand history section
if anything it has entertainment value worth a read, oh and some Stud strategy
I’m So Bad I’m Good
I dunno what it is with kids and needing excuses to call off more chips but this Razz hand was sweet and pissed off another player at the same time. Now with 2 cards down and 1 up, we are playing for the low, right? Razz low, ok so wtf was this guy thinking? Oh ya my hand was disguised so sweet.
Each street I bet as quick as it was my turn and he called……

No Ace Rag Players?
We are now playing Limit Holdem and dealt pocket Kings and there is an early limp then the donkey raises with his kings, called by 2 players, that’s not cool man 1 is fine but 2? Gonna be dodging everything on this flop I think. Jack high flop the early limper bets out and the other player calls, the Donkey Raises, they have no fear and call…. wtf? The turn is a 2, checked, the river is an Ace……..ffs eh?
They check down and I win the 13k pot and gives me 23k /phew.
Did I Mention I Love Omaha?
Dealt to Assistanc3 [8d 2d Ac 4s] *** FLOP *** [3c Kh 5s]
I check call the flop to make sure I get my low on the turn [6h]
sweet, time to crank it up and get the highs to get their aces cracked. We got a low stack do the pushing for us and another stack equal to mine came splashing the pot too. The river was a [4d] which actually gave the equal stack the same high as me, but I took all the low baby….
Making a Studly Move
Really I was playing for the low in this hand and I did hit a miracle and…..
this is why I am the Donkey of Poker

I had a couple more big pot wins after the above but it really it evens out for the bluffs I made, I tried to make one on a board that looked really inviting (for me) to make the move on but it didn’t work out. I was getting a little short stacked and the blinds/antes were just gonna kill me in the next round of holdem.
I did finally get all my chips in with an open end straight draw in a multi way pot which if I had won would have brought me a second life. I turned up a straight draw but that’s all I ended with was that draw. I probably would have made the move anyways even with my pre bluff stack…oh just noticed (damn it) I had just missed the low too, 7,5,4,2,A-to-my-7,5,4,3,2.
out in 35th of 877 $130

Well. It’s here!! Your fav game to play and for some serious $$ too.. It’s a good feeling when you get the first big chippie win.. I feel it can be part of the mental game of poker that gets you into the ” zone” Don’t Think just DO!!
I was up in chat when you relaized you werent playing razz.. I could get the big needle and hypo with the “credibility shot” but PG you just don’t need it..
I am also surprised at the ace rag MIA players.. Profession tourney brings professional players.. Nice!! ![]()

w00t w00t!
Unfortunately I had to go get some beauty sleep before the end of the game, but I had no worries that you would cash out.
LOL @ the sore loser that you stuck it to in the Stud hand with the fullhouse.
Maybe it was his seat, coz right after he left the guy who took over his seat was whining about the table being too aggressive. Or, maybe they just don’t like getting owned by the Donkey
Omaha is definitely your game. I noticed that you were really able to make up for any chips you may have lost in the other hands during the Omaha rounds.
Congrats on your cashout, and i’m looking forward to your next event on the 14th
ty for railing and supporting me in chat
I really was looking forward to this event and even with the pressure I put on myself to do well, I knew I would cash out but how high…. disappointing the last hand ripped me but that’s poker.
“credibility shot” but PG you just don’t need it..
was good timing to change gears after that and paid in full
looking forward to my next event
